As a part of an incredibly successful team, you will have the opportunity to join as an Investment Associate, supporting the deal lifecycle. You will learn from some of the industry’s most skilled Investment professionals whilst working on significant deals.

 

THE ROLE:
  • As a part of a growing Investment team, the fund seeks to hire a suitably practiced professional to serve an important role across respective deals. Given the technical orientation of the role, you will most likely have direct experience in either an Investment Bank (front office) or Private Equity firm. Your primary role will be to support the structuring and execution elements of the deal. Additional contributions will include contribution towards origination efforts (undertaken by the more experienced deal team) as well as portfolio monitoring. This role will afford you the following responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive research, for ongoing and potential investment opportunities, and to monitor portfolio companies

  • Market and financial analysis in support of the due diligence phase

  • Valuation and complex financial modelling

  • Creating detailed investment proposals which entail credible and evidenced information against prospective investment opportunities

  • Portfolio monitoring which entails financial analysis, periodic reporting, and suggesting financial advice to ensure optimal portfolio performance

  • Other deal support responsibilities where you will help source and screen investment opportunities

 

THE REQUIREMENTS:
  • 1-3 years’ professional experience from either an Investment Bank (M&A) or Private Equity firm

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Private Equity and appetite for investing in Africa

  • Proven experience in building complex financial models from scratch

  • Strong financial and strategic analysis

  • Articulate professional with commendable writing and reporting skills

  • Commercial astuteness and developed numerical reasoning

  • Due to the geographic coverage of the role, proficiency in French is highly advantageous

  • Team oriented with the ability to work independently
