Altus Partners are proud to be partnering with one of the largest and best-known global funds that are looking for an AVP to join its investment team. This team has a generalist outlook and will invest across Europe taking significant minority stakes (up to 49%) This role has a clear track to VP within an expected 12 -24 months to make this set up. At this stage, you will start to specialise in a sector of your choosing. You will play a critical role in identifying, evaluating, and executing investment opportunities and need to have experience on a deal from start to finish.  This is a deal captain position and you will work closely with the investment team, managing juniors on deals and reviewing the modelling.

 

THE ROLE:
  • Work predominantly as part of small deal teams to source, evaluate, and execute direct investments in private companies across a range of sectors and geographies

  • Be involved in all aspects of the transaction process, including modelling and valuation, taking ownership of some workstreams of the commercial and financial due diligence, preparing and presenting materials to the Investment Committee

  • Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with counterparties, including potential and existing investee companies alongside more senior investment officers as well as advisors and counterparties at other investing firms 

  • Monitor certain investments, which includes supporting the funds representative at board meetings, tracking financial performance, interacting with management and other shareholders on a regular basis, developing exit plans 

  • Take part in ad-hoc projects such as global sector reviews, market mapping of specific sub-sectors, strategic reviews 

 

THE REQUIREMENTS:
  • 5-8 years of work experience, with relevant transaction history at a leading principal investing firm/ private equity fund.

  • Strong track record of performance and success at current employer.

  • Self-starter and ability to operate in a less structured environment.

  • Very strong commercial judgment and a passion for understanding what drives business quality and value.

  • The ability to develop and defend an investment point of view.

  • Proven skills and experience in commercial, financial and valuation analysis.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
