Altus Partners are delighted to be retained by a Private Equity backed Pharmaceuticals company to hire a Commercial Director, based in the UK. They require an experienced profile to join the executive Corporate Development team to lead the UK and International Sales & Marketing teams to deliver a sustainable and high performing commercial organisation.



  • Based in the UK the successful candidate will report directly to the CEO, whilst managing three direct functional reports.

  • This is a highly visible role where you will work in close partnership with senior business leaders across the company as well as the Private Equity sponsor.

  • You will design and deploy relevant market research/insight plans to identify how best how to achieve best sales growth whilst providing comprehensive Commercial performance data and insight reporting.

  • You will be leading the Commercial team – establishing overall strategy, building high growth mindset and commercial, sales and marketing excellence within the team.

  • The successful candidate will optimise effectiveness and timelines of product launches through excellence of marketing and selling plans and excellent execution of these.

  • You will be continually reviewing and refining go to market design models and the market enablement of the sales team to ensure excellence in execution.

  • Represent the commercial function at Executive level, fostering strong, multi-functional collaboration to deliver business goals in a timely and compliant manner.



  • Minimum 7 years in a Commercial role within Pharmaceuticals’ is necessary

  • Proven track record of driving commercial performance.

  • Proven track record of leading international business development, commercial partnering, sales and marketing in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Demonstrable examples of leadership, strategic thinking, execution, decisiveness and collaboration both internally and externally.

  • Ability to generate new business through existing relationships as well as the development of new relationships in the sector.

  • Experience of working in a Private Equity environment is extremely desirable.

  • Collaborative, self-starter, strategic & analytical mindset
