THE SEARCH:

Altus Partners has partnered with a leading Alternative Investment Manager, looking to add to their Fund Finance team. The business is going through an exciting growth phase and this hire will play a vital role in developing their Finance function. The role will work directly with all areas of the business and work closely with the Head of Finance. The role offers the chance to learn about all aspects of the business’ operations and to influence and drive change.

THE ROLE:

The ideal candidate will have experience in an Audit Practice with a strong understanding of Financial Services. They will be joining a forward-looking environment and work with a dynamic team to develop controls and processes as the business grows. There is a strong emphasis on starting your own projects throughout the firm as well as coming up with innovative solutions to complex issues.

Responsibilities will include:

•Delivering insightful and timely reports to Senior Management and stakeholders

•Improve the automation, efficiency, and controls in all processes

•Working with the Investment team on new transactions to ensure they are structured well from a finance perspective

•Executing the month-end and year-end processes as efficiently as possible

•Aiding in the preparation of year-end and mid-year IFRS financial statements and the associated audit

•Preparing ad hoc reporting requests as the business needs

•Engaging with external service providers as required

•Training and developing junior finance staff

CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION:

•Qualified Chartered Accountant: ACA, ACCA or equivalent

•1-2 years’ minimum post qualification experience

•University degree or equivalent

•Experience and knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP financial reporting

•Proficient with excel and experience of working with finance software

•Understanding the principles of effective financial systems including processes and controls

•Good verbal and written communication skills

•High personal/professional ethics and integrity

•Ability to work well under pressure to tight deadlines and to deliver high-quality output in line with requirements, often defined by others
