THE SEARCH:

​Altus Partners is leading the search for a Financial Controller in a newly created appointment for an investment management business with multiple strategies and high growth areas. This will report directly into the Head of Finance with a dotted line to the CFO and one direct report.

The position will be hands-on and offer a very broad remit of commercial responsibility. This will be ideal for a Finance Manager level accountant looking to step up and take more responsibility, – including the development of FP&A models, KPIs for regular monitoring and other analytics to provide high value business insight, transformation, treasury and people development.

You will fundamentally be responsible for the day-to-day management of all the Corporate Entities and Divisional Reporting.

THE ROLE:

  • Modelling impact of strategic initiatives Statutory, Tax and Regulatory

  • Prepare annual statutory accounts and manage the audit process

  • Review all existing processes, recommending and implementing enhancements where appropriate to ensure that robust processes and control are embedded to allow to move towards an error free environment.

  • Lead, support and help develop the Management Accountant as required

  • Provide timely and accurate monthly management accounts to the Group and separate Divisions

  • Prepare best-in-class monthly finance reports for Internal Executive Committees and Subsidiary Boards

  • Robust reporting of costs and key performance measurements, ensuring these are accurate and fully reconciled to financial data, while ensuring correct accounting policies are in place and being adhered to for cost recognition

  • Prepare a forward-looking cashflow for weekly and monthly reporting

  • Liaise with relationship managers on managing FX exposure and hedging

  • Prepare the annual budget and 3 year target

  • Prepare monthly P&L forecasts for business and operating divisions; close liaison with business lines and Head of Departments on expectations

 THE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent academic record

  • ACCA/ACA/Chartered Accountant, 5-8 years + PQE

  • Commercial sense and interest in more than just the numbers

  • Hands-on accounting experience
