THE SEARCH:

Altus Partners are delighted to be partnering with one the leading healthcare investors. Given continued success in both fundraising and investment track-record, they are looking to add a further investment professional to the team.

 

THE ROLE:

Your role will be to support the investment team with rigorous scientific, clinical, financial and market/commercial due diligence. The role will also include support and leadership re: deal management and deal origination. In an organization where collaboration and teamwork is highly valued, the successful candidate will work closely with partners and colleagues across all geographies. 

Responsibilities include, but are by no means limited to the following:

  • Identify new investment opportunities

  • Research potential targets for direct approaches

  • Manage the initial screening stage of an investment opportunity

  • Manage and contribute to the drafting of investment papers and other internal documents

  • Manage the due diligence work streams for potential investments, preparing analysis and financial models as required

  • Liaise and work with external scientific and clinical advisors whenever necessary

  • Liaise with external consultants, auditors and lawyers

  • Follow up on legal documents/agreements and communicate with relevant internal stakeholders

  • Serve as an observer or investor director representing portfolio company boards

  • Participate in the monitoring and evaluation of potential exit alternatives

  • Assist with due diligence of potential M&A opportunities

  • Participate in management and other internal meetings as required

 

THE REQUIREMENTS:

You will be required to demonstrate the following.

Essential:

  • Advanced educational qualification master’s degree, MD or PhD

  • Biotech banking/consulting or VC background

  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills, financial and commercial

Ideal:

  • VC experience (therapeutics) with evidence of good investment judgement and skill

  • Academic network and interest in early stage science

  • Continental European background and/or network

  • Pharma/biotech co. scientific or business development experience
