Overview & Specialism:
Sharif leads our Consumer Leadership Practice, specialising in Senior Finance Leadership Search, in addition to full finance function build-outs.
Our Consumer Practice covers Search across the Retail, Hospitality, Consumer Goods and Manufacturing industries.
This includes both Permanent Executive Search and Interim Management Solutions.
We place into mid-large cap private equity-backed portfolio companies across the UK, Pan Europe, and North America.
Career Background:
Sharif has over 16 years Search experience within two Fortune 500 Consultancies and a market leading privately owned firm.
He has expanded his remit beyond Search, having spent time with a Private Equity Investor as a Portfolio Director, adding an additional layer of empathy, insight, and exposure to the Private Equity world.
His success has been built on a foundation of strong relationships, a consultative approach to his mandates, and honesty.
Sharif’s core area of expertise includes Finance Director, Group Financial Controller, and FP&A Director level Search’s across the UK, Pan Europe, and North America.
Other:
For the last three years, Sharif has been invited to be part of the judging panel for the annual Financial Times - Diversity in Finance Awards.
These awards are specifically targeted at the Financial Services Sector, celebrating the great initiatives taking place within this space.
Interests:
After graduating from University, Sharif took the opportunity to play professional American football in Spain, Norway, and Switzerland.
Sharif has remained involved in American football over the years, serving as the Head Coach of Royal Holloway and Surrey Universities, before taking on a Coaching position within the UK Premier League.
Sharif is a father of two and can usually be found cheering for his sons on the sidelines of a rugby pitch or cross-country course!
Traveling is also a passion with Barbados and Egypt (where his parents originate) being regular destination spots.
