Altus Partners are delighted to be partnering with one of the leading large cap private equity funds who have mandated us to assist them in bringing on board an Investment Associate into their growing and successful Private Equity team working as a generalist across sectors and investing across Europe. The fund invests across the capital structure and are highly opportunistic in their approach to making investments. They take controlling stakes in companies that they look to acquire and pride themselves on having a unique and operational approach to making these investments.

 

THE ROLE:

Based in London, the Investment Associate will focus largely on analysing investment opportunities in privately owned businesses where the team can identify and influence strategic change with an operational approach.  The Associate will support in the structuring and negotiations of equity investments, both from a technical and commercial perspective, as well as have experience Co-ordinating with both lawyers, consultants and investment bankers on transactions. The Investment Associate will also be charged with working on the monitoring and execution of strategic initiatives and will demonstrate the ability to build and maintain effective partnerships and relationships across the investment landscape.

  • Preparing detailed financial models, as well as performing quantitative and qualitative analysis

  • Market and sector research/industry due diligence

  • Deal execution responsibilities – deal structuring, legal documentation, negotiations and post deal closing

  • Portfolio monitoring and asset performance

  • Delivering portfolio value enhancement through to exit

 

THE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Currently be in their 2nd year of investment banking in M&A or Leverage Finance from a top tier institution

  • Be from a Bulge Bracket bank or leading corporate finance advisor Please note we will not be able to put forward candidates who are not from these banks

  • Outstanding financial modelling skills

  • Additional European languages would be beneficial

  • Graduated from a top tier European Business School
