Altus Partners are delighted to be partnering with Private Equity backed insights, data and analytics company in their search for a Director of Corporate Development and M&A to help their continued growth trajectory. The individual will be joining a highly successful company with leading mid-market backers and will be a driving force in aiding the company achieve it’s next phase of growth through both inorganic and organic means.
THE ROLE:
Executing multi-faceted research on the sourcing and screening of targets, building a rigorous pipeline of both near- and longer-term potential assets thereby ensuring maximum value creation
Maintaining a knowledge of regulated businesses, competition law, as well as competitors' movements, thereby understanding wider trends and adjacencies.
Prepare presentations to management, board members, and investors often backed by financial models to the highest professional services standards.
Tracking valuations in the sector as well as prioritizing and screening assets based on their strategic fit and actionability.
Leading on execution to project manage advisors and work closely with the Fund’s teams.
Networking as needed, both across industry and advisor community.
THE REQUIREMENTS:
At least 7-8 years of prior experience, including at least three in a Business Development role, and ideally from an IB/PE background.
Exceptional interpersonal skills as well as proven sales and negotiation expertise, both to be able to ensure fluent reports to the CEO and Board, as well as being able to originate deals independently.
Experience of having worked in a Private Equity environment, developing strategy, plans and operational projects, as well as an involvement in exit processes.
Exceptionally detail-orientated with an aptitude to synthesize large amounts of information and develop innovative solutions.
You have the vision to not only spot opportunity but also to think thoughtfully about a customer’s needs and complementary adjacent businesses.
Confident and highly credible with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels, with an ability to establish credibility and initial relationships alone.
Ideally, strong IB and industry links to ensure a holistic view of competitors, valuations, and trends.
Willingness to travel to London at least 2-3 days per week and to travel internationally when needed.
