​THE SEARCH:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a rapidly growing yet established venture capital firm with circa £200m of AUM, operating predominantly in the life sciences / healthcare and technology sectors. The firm typically make investments of £1m-5m into early-stage companies, mostly series A and series B with exposure so some late seed investments across the UK and Europe. This is an excellent opportunity for an investor to join a growing team to join the platform and be an integral part of the life sciences / healthcare growth.  

THE ROLE:

Following on from the firms recent success they are looking to hire a Director / Partner to lead the deal sourcing and execution across Europe.

  • Deal sourcing, leading and executing across the life sciences space, evaluating industry and innovation landscapes

  • Working with the investment team to screen, review and prioritise new investment opportunities or scientific ideas

  • Lead the  due diligence for potential investments and new companies being created, shaping business plans, compiling investment memos and supporting documentation

  • Management of portfolio companies, carrying out specific projects and analyses for them and preparing follow-on investment proposals

  • Building and maintaining financial models to support investment valuations and detailed market models for medicines/diseases

  • Conducting research for, and helping to prepare materials and presentations for, internal and external meetings

  • Conducting due diligence calls with physicians and other consultants

  • Attending investment, scientific and medical conferences

THE REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Demonstrated track record of sourcing, executing and leading venture deals across the UK and Europe.

  • Strong interest in the life sciences industry with a motivation to learn the investing business

  • Scientific or Medical training to at least undergraduate degree level

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills that exhibit independent thinking and attention to detail

  • Experience writing reports and delivering presentations that integrate multiple data sources

  • Understanding of business principles and market dynamics in the life science sectors

  • Ability to understand, interpret, and integrate information from a diverse set of resources

  • High integrity, work ethic and self-motivated

  • Team player who thrives in a distributed, collaborative firm environment

  • Organised, detail-oriented personality with the ability to multi-task and prioritize activities in an entrepreneurial environment

  • Excellent working knowledge of day-to-day software e.g. Excel, Powerpoint
