THE SEARCH:
Altus Partners are partnering with a Private Equity backed Retail business who are looking to appoint a proven Finance Director / CFO to strengthen their Senior Leadership Team.
This position will be the Number One Role in Finance, reporting directly to the CEO of the UK business.
The business has annual revenues of £120m with a healthy EBITDA and highly ambitious growth plans.
The current value creation plan of the business comes with an expectation to exit within the next 2-3 years, where the Finance Director / CFO will be pivotal to this being accomplished.
UK Headquarters are in Birmingham, where the successfully appointed candidate will need to be a visible on-site leader within the organisation.
THE ROLE:
The Finance Director / CFO will be a ‘hands on’ finance leader providing key commercial and strategic support to the UK CEO, Sales & Marketing Director and Procurement Lead, whilst developing and up-skilling a small team of Financial Analysts and providing support and guidance to the companies outsourced accounting provider.
You will have an aptitude for Technology / Data, driving the development and efficiency of internal reporting, ensuring data is fully utilised in the ongoing assessment, review and strategic direction of the business.
Key responsibilities
Reporting directly into the UK CEO, you will take full responsibility and ownership of the commercial finance function within the business.
Ongoing development of internal financial reporting, management information, Power BI and relevant commercial dashboards.
Ownership, development and execution of internal budgeting and forecasting processes.
Attending key strategic meetings with other key stakeholders within the business, providing valuable insights and commercial direction.
Business planning and associated financial modelling.
Deputising for the UK CEO when required and displaying strong leadership capability across all functional areas of the business.
Internal point of contact for the outsourced accounting function, providing key information when required, in addition to supporting on relevant finance transformation projects
Promote the development and internal utilisation of internal reporting and Power BI across the group.
Supporting the UK CEO and relevant external stakeholders with key due diligence at the point of taking the business to market.
THE REQUIREMENTS:
Qualified Accountant
Proven experience as a Finance Director or CFO, where you have supported Senior Stakeholders and have demonstrable evidence of positively impacting business performance.
Private Equity experience would be a nice to have, but this is not a pre-requisite.
Hybrid / Flexible working is available, with a requirement to be on-site in Birmingham around 3-4 days per week.
