THE SEARCH:

Altus Partners has partnered with a growing Private Equity firm that is looking to make their first Finance hire in Luxembourg. The business is going through an exciting growth phase and this individual will play a vital role in growing and developing the finance function. The role will work directly with the Global Head of Finance and Financial Controller as a Fund Controller. This role will have responsibility including core finance, fund accounting and operations, systems and controls, portfolio administration risk reporting and risk reporting and statutory account preparation.

 

THE ROLE:

The right candidate will have ultimate responsibility for all financial related functions of the business. This individual will be the sole source of accounting knowledge and must be completely confident and capable of handling all accounting and modelling related matters

  • Oversee and co-ordinate the year-end audit process, review year end financials statements and interim financial statements, work directly with the administrator and the auditors to ensure delivery of quality financial statements in a timely manner and review of interim financial statements.

  • Review of all investor reporting including capital calls, distributions and investor queries  

  • Drive key projects including system integrations, improving control procedures, reconciliations etc.

  • Working with Finance Director and Financial Controller on range of ad-hoc projects – eg Portfolio Risk Reporting, Liquidity Reporting, KPI reporting

  • Help develop key management information reporting including production of monthly and consolidated KPI pack for all Funds

  • Liquidity management across all funds

  • Main point of contact to internal and external stakeholder queries and working directly with the administrators, auditors etc

  • Develop the ongoing implementation of operating processes and procedures across the firm by identifying improvements and effecting change.

 

THE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Qualified accountant with working knowledge of European Fund structures.

  • 3 - 6 years’+ experience of investment operations experience with a top investment management firm.

  • Knowledge of Luxembourg funds is requisite.

  • Private equity, Credit, Direct Lending or private Debt is an Advantage

  • Advanced Excel skills and database applications is preferred.

  • Experience of effecting change and identifying efficiencies on different internal processes.

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills and the ability to effectively summarize findings, and clear communication both verbally and in writing to internal audiences and external clients.

  • Detail-oriented and highly motivated.

  • Ability to work effectively to meet multiple tight deadlines with minimal supervision.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including other business lines and corporate functions across the organisation with a range of related third parties.
