THE SEARCH:
Altus Partners are delighted to be partnered with a privately backed pharmaceutical business that is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to help facilitate their significant growth. This is a new role which has been created to bring greater integration, standardisation, and rigour to the finance department. You will be responsible for all Internal & external Group financial reporting and managing a team of circa 25 with 3 direct reports. The role is based in the Southwest of England.
THE ROLE:
Producing divisional and consolidated monthly management accounts and reports with strict adherence to company policies and timetables
Cash management and cashflow forecasting
Continually seeking to improve productivity and efficiency through the development of systems, processes, and controls
Implementing and maintaining a strong process and internal control environment
Preparing and monitoring performance against forecasts and budgets
Maintaining an in-depth understanding of the key drivers of the business to derive clear and succinct analyses of the ongoing financial performance of operations
Coordinating budgeting and forecasting procedures at divisional level and preparing consolidated version of the same
Ensuring compliance with relevant local tax, accounting, auditing, and external reporting requirements and obtaining professional advice and input as required
Leading and coordinating the annual external audit
Ensuring intercompany transactions are properly recorded, reported, reconciled, and consolidated.
Treasury oversight in ensuring effective management of working capital
Leading, mentoring, and providing clear guidance to the finance team
THE REQUIREMENTS:
Degree qualification
Qualified ACA
Experienced Group Financial Controller in a product processing/manufacturing environment
Experienced in managing internal & external stakeholders
Experienced people manager having closely managed a team of 15 or more people
Experienced in the preparation/presentation of monthly management accounts & Board pack to a tight deadline with consolidated profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flows
Experienced in managing significant change or transformations within the finance function – experience of significant change projects such as systems implementations, business integrations, reorganisations/restructurings will be essential
Experience with managing UK tax compliance
Experience in working with an integrated consolidation and planning system (currently Excel based)
Expert in financial reporting and FRS102
Experienced in managing the external audit process
Ideally experience of a private equity backed business environment
