THE SEARCH:
Altus Partners are delighted to be partnering with a software provider backed by a highly reputable Private Equity fund who require a Head of M&A and Strategy. Working closely alongside the CEO and CFO this role will drive M&A strategy, identify acquisition opportunities, and execute transaction, thereby expanding their presence across Scandinavia, Benelux, the UK and the DACH regions. Based in Finland the Head of M&A and Strategy will play a key role in overseeing a range of high-priority strategic projects to act as a catalyst towards their growth objectives.
THE ROLE:
Execute the company's M&A strategy, focusing on identifying and evaluating acquisition targets to support revenue and EBITDA growth objectives.
Build and maintain a strong network of advisors and industry contacts to source potential acquisition opportunities in Europe, with a focus on DACH and Scandinavia.
Lead end-to-end transaction execution, including due diligence, negotiation, and integration planning, in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners.
Evaluate acquisition opportunities, with a primary focus on high-growth businesses that are already profitable or have a clear runway to profitability.
Identify targets that either widen product capability or expand market share, with transformational opportunities of lower priority.
Drive and coordinate strategic projects that support the company’s growth ambitions.
Serve as a point person between different departments, fostering collaboration and alignment on key initiatives.
Coordinate project execution, monitor progress, and address any issues or obstacles, to ensure timely delivery.
Support the implementation of company strategy, integrating acquired solutions and driving cross-selling initiatives to maximize value for customers.
Collaborate with the product team to identify opportunities for product expansion and develop strategies for selling to existing and new customer segments.
THE REQUIREMENTS:
10+ years’ experience preferred.
Experience required in one or more of M&A, corporate development, private equity, investment banking and strategy consulting.
A track record of independently sourcing and leading successful M&A transactions strongly preferred.
Network within and experience of the SaaS industry a bonus.
Cash & treasury management experience a plus.
Demonstrated experience in strategic project management, with the ability to prioritize initiatives and drive cross-functional collaboration.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Fluent in English; proficiency in Finnish and / or German is a plus but not essential.
Bachelor's degree or higher
