THE SEARCH:
Altus Partners is working alongside a FTSE100 Alternative Asset Manager in support of developing their Real Estate Debt team. The team specialises in managing and executing sophisticated lending for Real Estate deals across the U.K. They invest private capital and prioritize senior debt, speaking to their noteworthy AUM of +£1bn. With a Commercial Real Estate lending background, you will enjoy working alongside a credible team partner with key players in the market as they organically grow their AUM.
THE ROLE:
The longstanding team is looking to appoint an experienced candidate who comes from a lending environment and with sound Commercial Real Estate Debt experience. You will contribute to the lending cycle from the initial stages of analysis, through to managing activity post close. Being technically and commercially involved in the deal as well as leading client conversations is key to the success of this role. You will take care of the following responsibilities:
Market research and sponsor due diligence
Analysis and underwriting of commercial real estate lending opportunities (senior debt, stretch senior and whole loans)
Providing investment recommendations and pricing for loan opportunities
Negotiating terms of lending with borrowers
Preparing Investment committee papers and presenting these to IC
Transaction execution, including engaging with external stakeholders, reviewing deal documentation, client screening, and managing relationships post-close
THE REQUIREMENTS:
At least 4 years of professional experience in Real Estate Debt (Clearing Bank/ Advisory/ Investment Management)
Experience with senior debt and comprehensive understanding of the lending cycle
Knowledge of the LMA-standard loan documentation is advantageous
Team oriented with the appreciation of working in a client centric environment
Ability to effectively manage multiple workstreams and communicate with transparency
