THE SEARCH:

Altus Partners has been exclusively mandated to support the growth a pan-African-focused Private Equity fund based in Mauritius. The investment practice is well-established with a rich history of working across different sectors and with companies on the African continent which are primely positioned for growth. The fund requires the expertise of an Investment professional who has a good command of investing in Africa and with credible commercial networks across the continent (with a favour for networks in West Africa).

THE ROLE:

In line with the investment strategy the fund is committed to hiring a professional with investing experience (either Debt and/ or Equity) who will lead and support the entire deal lifecycle. Being positioned to leverage off your corporate ecosystem of professionals in support of deal origination is important, and equally so your ability to manage deals through to financial close.

  • Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Leading all aspects of investment including origination, due diligence for prospective investment opportunities, and advising on new investments

  • Portfolio management inclusive of reporting and value creation

  • Active participation across investor and fundraising activities

  • Financial modelling, valuation, preparati of investment recommendations and transaction execution

  • Organically building and managing a network at the C-suite level of targeted firms and with Investment partners

 
THE REQUIREMENTS:
  • At least of 6 years of professional buy-side (Private Equity) where a combination of previous M&A experience will be considered

  • Commercial orientation with an evident corporate network and the commitment to develop on an ongoing basis

  • Robust technical skills specific to deal structuring and execution

  • Experience working with co-investment strategies is favoured

  • Knowledge of the investable environment in Africa is important

  • Distinct ability to work autonomously

  • Proficiency in French will be an advantage

  • Kindly note that this role will be based in Mauritius and may require travel into Africa
