Altus Partners have partnered with a growing Private Equity firm that is looking to bring on an Investment Controller in their newly created Europe Office to oversee the performance and monitoring function as the business goes through a period of significant growth. The business is going through an exciting phase as they are expanding globally as well as growing their team globally. This position will hold pivotal responsibilities as it will be working with the CFO and CIO in growing the business.

 

THE ROLE:

The business is looking to bring on a dynamic Investment Controller to work directly with Management and develop the finance, performance, monitoring, operations, and portfolio finance responsibilities across the business. The role will be the main point of contact through the business for all client and monitoring responsibilities. The business is going through a significant growth phase and this allows the person to take full responsibility for the function. The successful candidate will need to be a strong communicator and have a strong understanding of Private Equity fund structures.

  • Main point of contact to all business areas on the development and growth of the performance metrics.

  • Review and develop performance monitoring processes across the business as well as customer base

  • Develop and oversight of KPI scores from base data, identify trends, run analytics, and compare against benchmarks

  • Drive change and development on potential areas for improvements in process, procedures, and general operating practice

  • Advise and train the team on the requirements of the KPI’s

  • Feedback on all business development opportunities

  • Develop and implement of performance metrics to improve business operational efficiency

  • Oversight of requests and all KPIs are recorded correctly.

  • Oversight and development that KPIs and performance measurement is embedded into all work practices in line with all company policies

  • Develop and oversight of business policies and procedures as needed

  • Attend management meetings and take responsibility for the performance function

  • Manage all projects to meet deadlines

  • Contribute to the delivery of the business strategy

  • Support the company‘ approach to sustainability and drive change

 

THE REQUIREMENTS:

  • A relevant Degree or equivalent professional qualification

  • Entrepreneurial and courageous mindset to make well-reasoned decisions

  • Affinity for digital solutions in financial sector, especially venture capital, fund administration, and start-ups

  • At least 5 years experience in a performance, operations or finance environment

  • Detailed knowledge of Private Equity or Venture Capital funds

  • Analytical mindset, being able to analyse large amounts of data and provide recommendations to support the development the business strategies     

  • Strong project and programme management

  • Best practice in KPI and performance measurement in the investment consulting industry

  • Able to demonstrate up to date and relevant knowledge of all aspects of design and redesign of the performance business area

  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office with particular emphasis on Excel tool

  • Fluent business English and German
