​THE SEARCH:

Altus Partners has been retained by a high-growth, multi-site services business, backed by a leading European private equity firm, to appoint a Finance Director for the DACH region. This is a key regional leadership role, reporting directly to the Group CFO, with full responsibility for driving financial performance, supporting M&A activity, and enabling the next phase of growth across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The business is scaling rapidly through a combination of organic initiatives and strategic acquisitions, and this role will play a critical part in delivering operational excellence and value creation in the region.

THE ROLE:

Regional Financial Leadership

  • Own the full financial agenda for the DACH region, including FP&A, reporting, and commercial finance.

  • Partner with regional MDs and the Group CFO to shape and execute the strategic plan.

  • Ensure robust financial controls, compliance, and alignment with group-wide policies.

Performance Management & Value Creation

  • Drive margin improvement, cost efficiency, and working capital optimisation across the region.

  • Translate commercial and operational data into actionable insight to improve performance.

  • Support pricing strategy, service line profitability analysis, and investment decisions.

M&A Execution & Integration

  • Lead financial due diligence and integration for regional bolt-on acquisitions.

  • Work closely with deal teams and advisers to assess opportunities and ensure seamless onboarding.

  • Support valuation, structuring, and post-deal value capture.

Private Equity Engagement

  • Act as a key finance partner to the private equity owners, contributing to board reporting and investor updates.

  • Provide transparency on financial performance, forecasts, and value creation levers across the DACH region.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing regional finance team.

  • Promote collaboration across functions and geographies to ensure consistency and best practice.


THE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline

  • Trac record of leadership in senior finance roles, with regional or divisional responsibility.

  • Experience in a multi-site or operationally complex business, ideally within a PE-backed environment.

  • Strong M&A exposure, with hands-on involvement in due diligence and integration.

  • Fluent German and English required; strong leadership and stakeholder management skills essential.
