THE SEARCH:

Altus Partners are delighted to be partnering with the leading emerging markets private equity investor. Their direct investing team (London) is looking to add an Investment Associate to help further in deploying capital and execute investments. Over the last 3 years, the team has already deployed over $1.5bn with a strong pipeline of additional investment opportunity. With a focus on only investing in countries where they can have the greatest impact, our client is market-leading in their field.

THE ROLE:

•Evaluating new investment proposals or potential target businesses, including conducting financial analysis, valuation exercises, financial modelling, etc.

•Having responsibility for aspects of the deal processes including working on commercial, financial, tax and legal due diligence, typically alongside advisors

•Undertaking research into specific sectors and countries that fit within the investment mandate in order to develop sub-sector strategies

•Supporting the post-deal management of the investment portfolio

•Maintaining the deal pipeline and filtering potential opportunities

•Preparation of valuation and presentation materials for investment committees

THE REQUIREMENTS

•University degree or equivalent

•French Speaker is a requirement

•At least 2-3 years’ relevant business experience within investment banking, consulting or private equity

•Exposure to emerging market finance is advantageous

•Report writing, and advanced knowledge of Excel is imperative

•Good business communication and presentation skills

•An active interest in investing in developing countries

•Ability to analyse a company’s financial statements and to make commercial assessments based on this analysis

•Strong excel modelling skills

•Experience in valuation techniques

•Understanding of emerging market environments

•Ability to build relationships within and across teams and externally
