Altus Partners has been retained on a search by a market-leading Venture capital fund that focuses on investing across the North of England, Ireland, and Scotland, with several offices in the regions.

The fund is looking for someone who can bring their entrepreneurial experience to further develop the team’s offering to its extensive portfolio of business. Having spent time in a start-up you’ll be able to bring significant insight to new and existing portfolio companies to aid them in their growth while being involved in the entire deal cycle.

The fund has recently raised its newest VC fund and will target investments at the Seed to Series A stage, with top quartile returns, across the technology space. It is looking for an Investment Manager to join its team and allow for its continued growth. This role can be based in Edinburgh, Glasgow or Leeds.

 

THE ROLE:
  • Contributing to internal discussions on taking forward or rejecting prospective investment opportunities.

  • Overseeing the production of high-quality, detailed Investment Committee papers and supporting documents in a timely manner.

  • Completing periodic portfolio valuation, investor reporting and other tasks to meet internal and external deadlines.

  • Working with the wider business teams across investment, investment administration, investor relations & marketing and finance, on mission-critical and ad-hoc projects.

  • Helping to build the fund, the business and it’s brand in the market, by attending events, participating in panel discussions and pitching competitions, and building relationships with co-investors at all stages of the ecosystem across a wide geography.

  • Helping to build and develop the funds thought leadership strategy

 

THE REQUIREMENTS:
  • A bachelors or masters degree in science, technology, engineering or maths (STEM), or finance, economics or accounting, or

  • 4-10 years’ professional experience as an operator (founder, product, commercial, operations, technology or engineering) within a technology start-up or scale-up,

  • The fund will also consider those with relevant experience from an investment bank, accountancy firm (transaction services or corporate finance teams) management consultancy, venture capital, growth or private equity firm.
