Altus Partners is currently partnered with a Private Equity backed B2B services business seeking an M&A Director. The company has raised a substantial amount of capital and is looking to broaden its product suite with the launch of a subscription/SaaS offering. One of the ways they are looking to bolster this pivot is by completing several strategic acquisitions in this space. This role will be crucial in leading this process, working closely with the CEO, investors, and senior leadership team to identify, execute and integrate the transactions. This role will suit an M&A leader within the software space looking to deliver a scale and exit, or a senior finance operator with extensive M&A/buy &build exposure in software.

  • Lead on all M&A transaction activity throughout the full deal cycle

  • Partner closely with the CEO to ensure the business achieves its strategic milestones

  • Liaise with Private Equity investors, giving regular reporting on the acquisition pipeline and target updates

  • Create financial models which analyse current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, ARR, CAC and SaaS metrics and operating expenditure

  • Help drive the commercial agenda, provide input, develop models, and support decisions on commercial viability of proposals and new business opportunities

  • Interact with the senior leadership team by participating in SLT meetings and responsible for agendas, content, and communications and tracking of deliverables

  • Provide competitive intelligence by monitoring external and scape and generating insights critical to business (including potential partnerships)

  • Undertake ad-hoc commercial/strategic duties


  • Prior experience in an M&A leadership role within a software or technology led business

  • Private Equity exposure is beneficial

  • Or ACA qualified with finance leadership experience within software

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sharp business and financial acumen

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with ability to Influence the thinking of senior management

  • Able to thrive in a highly dynamic, fast paced, continuously changing environment
