Altus Partners has partnered with a growing alternative Investment Manager that is looking to bring on a Senior Funds Lawyer to join the growing team. The business is going through a growth period off the back of recent success and looking to bring on a Senior Funds Lawyer. The business is looks to invest in credit across the US, Europe and Asia. The Senior Funds Lawyer will be based in London and support the business on the funds.
THE ROLE:
The ideal candidate will support the business and have solid experience of advising on various matters relating to the structuring, establishment, raising and investing in private investment funds.
Drafting constitutional documentation of funds including limited partnership agreements and shareholder agreements
Drafting and negotiating ancillary documentation such as management agreements for investment and administration agreements.
Providing high level advice on tax related issues in relation to the funds and its investors
Drafting LLP agreements in relation to setting up new funds
Advising on carried interest arrangements and reviewing marketing material.
Providing high level advice on UK financial regulation as it relates to investment funds.
Responsible for the communication between external counsel and administrators
Reviewing fund documentation for investors and negotiating with fund counsel when acting for investors
Discussing new funds with co-investors
THE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 6 years PQE in a City law firm funds team or an internal alternative investment manager
Experience in structuring and establishing funds in offshore jurisdictions.
Experience in advising and negotiating in alternative asset structures.
Experience in communicating with stakeholder management and investors and responding to their queries.
Preference for experience working in house at an investment fund.
Ability to be a Project Manager and providing leadership in starting transactions and seeing them through to conclusion.
