Altus Partners is pleased to be retained by a distinguished private equity firm specialising in investing in private European businesses. Our client deploys equity investments ranging from €100m to €350m per transaction to create a focused portfolio of majority stakes in companies. They are committed to promoting sustainable growth through international expansion, strategic add-on acquisitions, and operational enhancements.

THE ROLE:

As Vice President of European Private Equity, you will be pivotal in identifying, evaluating, and managing European investment opportunities. You will work closely with the senior leadership team to execute the firm’s investment strategy and drive value creation within the portfolio. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the sourcing, evaluation, and execution of investment opportunities.

  • Conducting thorough due diligence and financial analysis to assess potential investments.

  • Collaborating with portfolio companies to develop and implement growth strategies, including international expansion, add-on acquisitions, and operational improvements.

  • Managing relationships with key stakeholders, including management teams, industry experts, and advisors.

  • Monitoring and reporting on the performance of portfolio companies, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.

  • Supporting the exit process for portfolio companies, achieving optimal returns for investors.

THE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 4-6 years of private equity investment experience from a large-cap private equity fund, with a strong desire to transition into mid-cap investing.

  • Proven track record of identifying and executing successful investments in private businesses.

  • Exceptional analytical and financial modelling skills, with the ability to conduct comprehensive due diligence.

  • Strong understanding of sustainable growth strategies, including international expansion, add-on acquisitions, and operational improvements.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

  • A proactive and hands-on approach, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

  • An advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred but not essential.
