Altus Partners have partnered with a leading Alternatives Investment Management firm that is looking to bring on a group accountant to work directly with the Finance Director and CFO to have oversight of all external stakeholders and own the financial control function within the specific business area. The business is a leading Investment Manager that is going through significant growth across the UK and Europe. This position will hold pivotal responsibilities as it will be working directly with the senior management and  C-Suite.

 

THE ROLE:

This role will be responsible for the oversight of the traditional Financial Control, Financial Planning and Analysis, and regulatory work. The role will work alongside the Finance Directors of the firm but will have also daily contact with CFO and other departments of the firm.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsibility for the supervision of entities with outsourced accounting

  • Oversight of quarterly review, review of cash requirements as needed, supervision of expenditure levels, year-end review of accounts as provided by third parties

  • Accounts receivable process; revenue accrual, forecasting and billing of revenues on a monthly and quarterly basis.

  • Responsibility for prepayments, accruals, and revaluation processes across all operating entities

  • Responsibility for consolidation runs for review by Finance Director

  • Draft preparation of Year End accounts for review by Finance Directors

  • Review consolidated department actuals on monthly basis

  • Preparation and share timetabled actual v budget reports

  • Support budgeting & reforecasting process for revenues and costs together for different departments

  • Support forecasting process for revenues and costs as needed

  • Preparation of draft submissions for review by Finance Directors

  • Support on Ad Hoc regulatory reporting as needed 

THE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Qualified accountant with experience in a group role

  • Investment management experience is not essential

  • Strong Excel skills applied to large data sets

  • Relationship building skills with senior internal stakeholders and external clients

  • Ability to independently manage time and workloads

  • Proficient Microsoft office skills (Excel, Word) and experience with accounting systems

  • Strong attention for detail

  • Experience preparing, reviewing and auditing (as auditor or been audited) year-end accounts
