Altus Partners is exclusively mandated by one of Africa’s most prestigious mezzanine funds who are growing their Francophone practice. Their fundraising success has given rise to this growth hire where you will support execution and portfolio monitoring across North and West Africa investments (both new and existing). Prided by one of the most influential management teams you will have the opportunity to directly engage and learn from industry experts as you develop your acumen of buy-side investing in emerging markets.

THE ROLE:

The fund seeks to hire an experienced professional (from either a sell-side or buy-side team) – i.e., Investment Banking (M&A or Leveraged Finance) or Private Equity/ Private Debt. Your principal involvement will range from the very initial deal evaluation stage, through to investment structuring, financial close and portfolio monitoring. This role will afford you the following responsibilities (amongst others):

·         Market and industry research for potential investment opportunities, and in support of current portfolio monitoring

·         Commercial, financial, and technical due diligence

·         Valuation and complex financial modelling

·         Compilation of term sheets and documentation for IC

·         Creating detailed investment proposals supported by credible and evidenced data

·         Financial analysis, reporting, and stakeholder recommendations for portfolio monitoring

·         Wider deal support across governing documents (legals) and deal negotiations

THE REQUIREMENTS:

·         2-4 years’ professional experience from either an Investment Bank (M&A or Leverage Finance) or Private Equity/ Private Debt/ Mezzanine firm

·         Due to the geographic concentration of this role, fluency in French is non-negotiable

·         Advanced financial modelling skills with strong commercial reasoning

·         Articulate professional with esteemed writing and reporting skills

·         Respectable comprehension of Private Markets investing and appetite for investing in Africa

·         Team oriented yet self-managed

·         Professional experience in Africa is highly advantageous
