The Search

Altus Partners has partnered with a growing Alternatives firm that is looking to bring on a Portfolio Conducting Officer to join a successful and dynamic team based in Luxembourg. The business is going through an exciting growth phase and this individual will play a vital role in growing, developing and leading the team. The role will work directly with the Partners and Senior Members of the business in developing the business area.

The Requirements

The role will have full responsibility of the portfolio management function of the Operating Business. The ideal candidate will have experience in Direct Lending, Leveraged Finance and Structured Credit.

•Verification and assessment of the delegated portfolio manager’s track record;

•Analysis of the arrangements for the execution and trading of orders (including compliance with the procedures regarding authorized counterparties);

•Review of the operational processes regarding transactions, data retention and position reconciliation processes;

•Review of the procedure for selecting brokers;

•Analysis of the organization of the delegate’s risk control function;

•Review of the investment process and of the arrangements to use, where appropriate, investment advisers;

•Review of the procedure applicable to personal transactions.

•Verification that the assets of the managed funds are invested in compliance with the instruments of incorporation and the legal provisions in force;

•Verification that the investment decisions on behalf of the managed funds are carried out in compliance with the objectives, the investment strategy and the risk limits of these funds;

•Verification that the prospectus and funds are managed adequately to reflect the general investment policy and the strategy implemented;

•Regular monitoring of the number and nature of pre-trade and post-trade incidents accompanied by the process for regularizing incidents;

•Regular monitoring of the number and nature of operational errors and the implementation of corrective measures;

•Coordinate with the internal and approved statutory auditor, review of internal audit points and follow up on recommendations on matters related portfolio management;

•Involved in the drafting and review of internal policies and procedures of the portfolio management activities.
