Senior Azure Data Engineer required. Altus Partners’ client, a PE backed business information organisation, is looking for a highly motivated Senior Azure Data Engineer to join their team in London.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Azure Data Engineer to take full ownership of our client’s data engineering function and drive it to the next level – helping to shape and define the future of the data capability.
THE ROLE:
Multi-faceted hands-on senior data engineer role, with a lot of stakeholder engagement, as well as team mentoring / leadership responsibilities
Full responsibility for the revamped data architecture
Further develop the data platform – ensuring it’s scalable and flexible
Replace the remaining legacy systems
E2E data pipeline responsibility
Responsibility for API integrations
Ownership of CI/CD processes
Playing a key role in helping to drive the ambitious group-wide growth plans
Seek new opportunities that align to the overarching business growth strategy and data engineering strategy
Immediate leadership / mentoring responsibility of more junior members of the team – opportunity for this to grow quickly for the right candidate
THE REQUIREMENTS:
5+ years working in fast-paced commercial environments – sector agnostic
2-3 years + working in a similar data engineer position using Azure / Databricks
Excellent Python
Excellent SQL
Strong experience with MS Azure
Strong experience with Databricks
Experience building scalable, maintainable code and architecture, strong experience building pipelines and adhering to CI/CD best practices
Ideally you will have experience with Spark (bonus)
Ideally you will have experience with Machine Learning (bonus)
Ideally you will have people management experience (bonus)
